A recent stroke of luck playing the lottery has opened up a world of possibilities for a Vancouver Island couple.
Gail and Thomas Hewitt say they’re ecstatic after winning a $1-million prize from the Lotto Max draw on Nov. 19.
When they realized they won, Gail went back to Walmart where she bought the ticket to get it officially scanned.
Thomas, meanwhile, said he was so excited that his “brain was numb.”
The first person the Duncan couple told about their life-changing win was their daughter, who could very well reap the rewards of the windfall as well.
The Hewitts’ top priorities, however, are buying a new car and renovating their kitchen.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Walmart on Drinkwater Road in Duncan.
