I am a bit of a gregarious hermit, a steelhead obsessed fishing bum, a fly fishing guide, casting instructor and professional fly tyer. I have competed twice in the world championships for spey casting and am excited to be able to compete again this year. I am an avid writer for various fly fishing journals and magazines and am a co-host for Sport Fishing on the Fly, featured on the World Fishing Network. I love promoting women in the sport and am a proud regional representative for United Women on the Fly, tailoring workshops or schools specifically for women.
Why do you use Instagram?
Social media has become a powerful tool for change within the last few years, globally connecting peoples and promoting changes within the industry, such as safe fish handling techniques, ethical fishing practices and drawing attention to conservation movements. There are some pretty great anglers out there promoting this, and I believe it is a responsibility to the industry we work in. There has been a large movement within these last five years of younger and younger anglers starting to pick up fly fishing and if you didn't know any better or didn't have anyone to teach you, you might think that it's fine to lift a steelhead out of the water; but now that industry leaders have take charge to post movements such as #keepemwet, education is spread more diligently and quicker to those just learning.

How do you decide on your location for shoots?
I go where the fish are. I don't set up shoots specifically for fishing, its more of just having the camera handy waiting for the magic.
