The RCMP are asking the public to help identify two women who have been scamming their way across three provinces.
According to the West Shore RCMP, on April 11, 2021, a Save-on-Foods grocery store in Langford, BC was the most recent known target of a pair.
The two women were first spotted in Saskatoon, Sask. in March of this year.
The suspects use a distraction-based technique to allow them to pocket cash and depart before the theft is discovered.
In some instances, they were observed leaving in a dark coloured minivan.
Since the first incident on March 19, 2021, officials at Save-on-Foods estimate the women have managed to pocket $7,386.00 in cash from various stores across BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
“Someone knows who these women are,” says Cst Meighan Massey, of the West Shore RCMP. “They are traveling across Canada, in the middle of a pandemic, victimizing businesses as they go. We are asking for anyone with information regarding these crimes to please contact police.”
If you or anyone you know has information regarding the identity of these women, please contact the West Shore RCMP at (250)474-2264 or if you wish to remain anonymous, contact CRIME STOPPERS at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
