Downtown Penticton's new 'A Sprinkle of Magic' market debuts today

The Downtown Penticton Improvement Association (DPBIA) is debuting its latest winter market, just in time for the holiday season.

A Sprinkle of Magic is set to bring a festive shopping experience to four locations in the downtown core on Saturday from noon to 4 pm.

“We are excited to introduce a holiday event that captures the spirit of our community while supporting local businesses,” says Brett Turner, executive director.

“A Sprinkle of Magic is designed to offer a festive, family-friendly experience that brings the community together to celebrate and enjoy downtown Penticton.”

Residents are invited to Main Street and White Avenue, Tickleberry’s Greenspace, Wayne & Freda Parking Lot and Cannery Brewing.

Each location will have activities, including gift card giveaways, letters to Santa, live music, crafts for kids and special photo opportunities from 1-3 pm.

There will also be complimentary treats and hot chocolate.

To top off the special winter market, DPBIA will be giving away $5,000 in gift cards at one of the locations.

Shoppers are encouraged to take part in the A Sprinkle of magic passport activity by collecting stamps at each shopping hub. Once passports are complete, they can be entered into a draw for a chance to win a $500 gift card.

The City of Penticton will be providing two-hour parking on streets to make it easier to access the event.
