Snow on local mountains, heavy fog on the Connector

We have some good news and bad news weather-wise.

The snow level is down to 1,500 metres, which has resulted in a nice blanket of snow on the local ski hills.

Both Big White and Silver Star both saw a nice dump of snow thanks to the lower snow level and steady overnight precipitation.

Although it’ll surely get skiers and snowboarders excited for the upcoming season, opening day is still a few weeks away at both resorts.

While the snow level was low enough for a good dumping on those mountains, it’s not quite low enough for anything consistent on the Coquihalla or Connector.

It is wet on the Coquihalla, but conditions otherwise look good, which you can’t quite say for the Connector.

For a second straight day, a thick blanket of fog has covered higher parts of the mountain pass, making it a tricky commute.

There has also been some snow near the Pennask Summit, but not enough to start accumulating on the road.
