Several temperature records have been broken across the BC Interior this weekend.
On Sunday, according to Environment Canada, the following areas logged new temperature maximums:
Blue River area: New record of 10.8ºC; old record of 10.3ºC was set in 2015
Cache Creek area: New record of 14.7ºC; old record of 12.8ºC set in 1963
Clearwater area: New record of 12ºC; old record of 11.1ºC set in 1932
Nakusp area: New record of 10.5ºC; old record of 10.3ºC set in 1997
Salmon Arm area: New record of 12.4ºC; old record of 11.6ºC set in 2024
Williams Lake area: Record of 9.9ºC; tied with record set in 2005
Environment Canada added: “The temperature records reported here have been derived from a selection of historical stations in each geographic area that were active during the period of record.”
It said the temperatures could be “preliminary or unofficial.”
