The statement highlights that boaters and others out on Okanagan Lake, Skaha Lake and the surrounding shorelines should be prepared for gusts of up to 70km/h.

“A cold front will sweep through the southern interior later today and gusty northerly winds are expected through the Okanagan Valley,” reads the weather statement.

“These winds are expected to develop this afternoon over northern Okanagan Lake, then spread southwards through the early evening.”
