If you have family, friends or acquaintances in Newfoundland, you may want to send some condolences.
The Eastern Canadian province is forecast to be hit by a severe snowstorm come Thursday, with 15 to 30 centimetres of snow expected.
Environment Canada issued the warning for several parts of the province and residents are asking the weather gods why?

“Typically with late season snowfalls, accumulations are highly variable from one area to another depending on elevation and proximity to the coast,” states Environment Canada.
“As a result, there is potential for amounts to exceed 30 cm over some higher elevations while lower elevations and areas right along the coast could see lower amounts than forecast.”
While this is cruel and unreasonable weather to endure in late May, heavy spring snowfall is not unusual for Newfoundland.
Last year, the province saw as much as 125 cm in some areas after a record-setting storm hit at the beginning of April.
Meanwhile, the rest of Canada is enjoying some pretty balmy weather.
