The Coquihalla will be a treacherous trek today.
Five to 15 centimetres of snow fell at higher elevations on the highway and another 10 cm is expected throughout the day.
“A cool moist unstable air mass behind a cold front will continue to spread flurries at times heavy to the southern highway passes,” reads a weather alert from Environment Canada.
“Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.”
Webcam footage from the mountain pass shows poor conditions already, but the road remains open at this time.
If you’re travelling today, take it slow and be prepared for a potential highway closure at any time by keeping extra clothes, food and water in your car.
NowMedia will update this story if there are any highway closures affecting traffic in the Interior.
