Speakers recalled after battery found to pose fire hazard

Thousands of speaker products have been recalled across Canada after their batteries were found to pose a fire risk.

Certain units of the Anker Soundcore A3102 Speaker (Black) and AnkerWork A3302 PowerConf S3 Speakerphone should not be used, Health Canada warned in a public notice.

It said people in possession of the products should dispose of them.

Health Canada said the batteries used in the items “could overheat, posing a potential fire hazard.”

There have been no reports of any incidents in Canada.

According to Health Canada, the company sold more than 9,700 units of the products between March 2023 and September 2023.

They were made in China.
