Vlad Guerrero Jr. launches first career grand slam, youngest Blue Jay in history

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. continues to impress as part of the Toronto Blue Jays lineup and Saturday evening he launched himself straight into the Blue Jays history books with a game-tying grand slam.

Down by four runs against the Detroit Tigers, and bases loaded, Guerrero Jr. stepped to the plate and booked Gregory Soto's pitch an all-expenses paid trip from the diamond to the stands.

"There's a deep drive to left field. Get up, ball, get out of here! And how about a grand slam for Vladdy Guerrero," the announcer cheered as the ball sailed to Guerrero Jr.'s first career grand slam.

But that's not all. His first career grand slam also registered the 20-year-old for the Blue Jays record books as the youngest Toronto player in franchise history to hit a grand slam.

Additionally, the Blue Jays are now tied for the MLB record for the most grand slams in a single season.

The Jays went on to win against the Tigers 7-5.

Guerrero had previously shown off his aptitude for long bombs during the Home Run Derby earlier this month with a record-setting 29 home runs in the first round of the competition.
