The final match of the Canadian major junior hockey season is upon us as the Medicine Hat Tigers are set to face the London Knights in the Memorial Cup final tonight.
The Tigers enter tonight’s final with a perfect record at this year’s Memorial Cup, including a 3- 1 win over London this past Tuesday to secure their spot in the final.
Medicine Hat will hope to use that momentum to their advantage as they play in their first final since 2007 and look to be the first Western Hockey League (WHL) team to win the title since Edmonton in 2014.
Leading the Tigers in scoring at the tournament is a trio of players who all have five points in three games.
Ryder Ritchie has four goals and an assist, Oasiz Wiesblatt has five helpers and Gavin McKenna has a pair of goals and three assists.
The Tigers will have their hands full with the Knights, who are playing in the Memorial Cup final for the second consecutive year and looking for revenge after losing to the Saginaw Spirit last year.
Puck drop is at 4 pm PDT.
