The Toronto Blue Jays' incredible 2025 season has come to an end in a painful way as the Canadian team lost 5-4 in game seven of the World Series on Saturday.

George Springer opened the bottom of the third inning with a single before moving to second on a bunt. A wild pitch in the next at-bat moved Springer to third base.

The Dodgers then put Vladimir Guerrero Jr. on first with an intentional walk, bringing Bo Bichette to the plate.

The infielder smacked the first pitch he saw to the moon to give the Jays a 3-0 lead, sending the Rogers Centre (Skydome) into madness.

The home run ended Shohei Ohtani's night as the Dodgers brought in Justin Wrobleski to pitch in relief.

LA opened the top of the fourth with a double, which was immediately followed by a Freddie Freeman single.

Max Muncy walked to load the bases and Teoscar Hernández hit the ball into the outfield.

Daulton Varsho dove and made the catch as Will Smith tagged up before running home to make it a 3-1 game.

The Dodgers continued to chip away at Toronto’s lead and got one run in the sixth inning.

Ernie Clement opened the bottom of the sixth with a single, bringing Andrés Giménez up to bat.

The Blue Jays' ninth hitter squared up to bunt several times as Clement stole second base, entering scoring position.

With the count full, Giménez nailed the ball for a double to bring in Clement, 4-2 Blue Jays.

The eighth frame saw the Dodgers pull closer to the Jays with a solo home run. Eventually, the game went to the top of the ninth inning, 4-3 in favour of the Jays with Jeff Hoffman on the mound.

After getting a strikeout, Hoffman left a pitch over the plate and Miguel Rojas made him pay with a solo home run.

Ohtani then popped up and Will Smith watched strike three as the game went to the bottom of the ninth tied 4-4.

With the bases loaded, Daulton Varsho hit a ground ball and the Dodgers got the out at home plate to preserve the tie.

Up came Ernie Clement, and he smacked the ball to the warning track, where two Dodgers players collided in the outfield and miraculously made the catch to end the frame and send the game to extra innings.

The Dodgers took the lead in the 11th inning on a solo home run and while the Jays hit a double to start the bottom half of the inning, the Canadian team was unable to keep the game going as Alejandro Kirk’s bat broke and the Dodgers completed the double play.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are the first team to win consecutive MLB titles in more than 20 years.
