(UPDATE: July 21 @ 7 p.m.) - Although wildfires are still ablaze in the Okanagan-Similkameen areas, West Kelowna's Glenrosa area can take a deep sigh of relief as the remaining evacuation alerts in the area have been rescinded.
"We can confirm that today, under the advice of the BC Wildfire Service, the balance of the Glenrosa properties were taken off alert," said Keith Meldrum, Liaison Officer for the EOC.
The remaining properties affected by the Law Creek wildfire have been taken off alert, bringing the balance to zero.
698 properties still remain on evacuation alert in the Central Okanagan.
(UPDATE: July 20 @ 3:26 p.m.) - A number of properties in the Law Creek area have been removed from the Evacuation Alert in Upper Glenrosa.
Of the 198 properties put on evacuation alert last night, 69 of them have been rescinded.
The remaining 129 properties identified yesterday remain on evacuation alert, meaning residents at those properties need to be ready to leave at a moment’s notice.

The total number of properties on evacuation alert in the Regional District Central Okanagan is now 803, with 38 properties on evacuation order.
The ESS reception centre at Lakeview Heights Baptist Church will be closing at 5 p.m. on July 21 so it can be relocated to the Salvation Army Community Church located at 1480 Sutherland Ave. The Salvation Army reception centre will open on July 22 at noon.
If the reception centre needs to be opened sooner, ESS will accommodate the need.

An Evacuation Alert has been issued for 198 properties in the upper Glenrosa area of the City of West Kelowna due to the Law Creek wildfire. Approximately 495 residents affected by this new Alert, should be ready to leave their homes on short notice for an extended period of time because of the potential threat from the blaze. The BC Wildfire Service estimates this fire is about eight hectares in size (BC Wildfire website).

All properties on streets west of Gates Road (including the west side of Gates Road and Glenrosa Road west of Gates Road) are affected by the Evacuation Alert including: Carre Road, Chesea Court, Corine Road, Corral Court, Emerald Road, Fenton Road, Gill Road, McKellar Road, Preston Road, Regent Road, Stonegate Court and Turnbull Road.
All previously issued Evacuation Orders and Alerts remain in effect.
An Emergency Support Services reception centre at the Lakeview Heights Baptist Church, 2630 Alhambra Drive in West Kelowna will reopen this morning at 8:30 to help affected residents on Evacuation Order. In order to receive any assistance and lodging from ESS volunteers affected residents must report and register at the reception centre.
