It is still classified as out of control, however BCWS shared that crews and aviation resources continue to make good progress containing the south and north flanks of the fire, working west to east.

The west flank along the Sooke River is 100% contained.

The Capital Regional District (CRD) is still asking people to stay away from the area, and has closed several regional parks and trails in the area.

Visitors are asked to avoid accessing these areas through other regional or provincial parks.
