A wildfire on the northern shore of Okanagan Lake has been brought under control by firefighters.
Vernon Fire Department joined forces with the BC Wildfire Service to tackle the Adventure Bay Road wildfire near Vernon on Thursday.
It’s been controlled at 1.4 hectares, according to BCWS’s latest update.
On Thursday, the agency said it was attacking the fire with helicopters and air tankers.
That was when the blaze was showing “low-vigour surface fire” spreading at a “slow to moderate rate,” BCWS said.
BCWS said it was brought under control “thanks to the quick response and hard work of ground and aerial resources.”
The agency said the fire is suspected to have been caused by humans.
