The small town of Okanagan Falls had a wildfire scare on Saturday, but the quick work of local firefighters and the BC Wildfire Service got the blaze under control a few hours after it was discovered.
In a social media post around 5 pm on Saturday, the BCWS said it was assisting the Okanagan Falls Fire Department with a blaze near Shuttleworth Creek that was discovered just after 3 pm.

The post added that ground crews responded by digging a hard guard around the fire.
At 6:10 pm, the BCWS updated the status of the fire to be under control and staying at 1.45 hectares in size.
The fire is suspected to have been caused by human activity.
