VIDEO: First Okanagan Cherries now appearing at fruit stands

We've been keeping an eye out for the first Okanagan Cherries of the year and spotted some Osoyoos grown cherries at the Kelowna Fruit Stand. We stopped-in to meet the proprietors and try some cherries.

The business is on Hwy 97 just south of the airport. Manager at Kelowna Fruit Stand, Param Brar is proud of the cherries, grown on family property just under a two-hour drive from Kelowna.

It's the early-ripening Tieton cherries that are first to market. They are large in size, mahogany-red in colour, with a mild, but sweet flavour.
