'Tis the season to book your winter escape.
While Kelowna's hot and sunny right now, it won't be come the end of October.
With that in mind, WestJet has announced its winter schedule of non-stop flights and all-inclusive vacation packages from Kelowna.

For winter 2025-26, WestJet will have service to six sun destinations from Kelowna -- Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Los Cabos, Phoenix and Las Vegas.
"WestJet's BC winter schedule reflects our commitment to making air travel more accessible and affordable for Western Canadians," said WestJet executive vice-president John Weatherill.
"We're giving our guests more choice and flexibility so they can escape the cold, all with the convenience and value they expect from WestJet."

It's a real coup for Kelowna to have non-stop flights to six hot spots.
Some larger cities -- like Victoria and Saskatoon -- don't have that many.
Kelowna International Airport benefits because it's a regional hub that serves flyers from throughout the Southern Interior.
As well, a lot of people in the Southern Interior don't want to drive to Vancouver or Calgary in the snow to catch a plane south, preferring to fly directly out of Kelowna.

Cancun
Non-stop flights start Oct. 26 and run through April 26.
Five departures a week on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
One-way fares start at $265.
Puerto Vallarta
Three flights a week from Kelowna from Oct. 27 to May 3 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
One-way fares start at $337.
The WestJet news release announcing the winter 2025-26 schedule spotlighted Kelowna-Puerto Vallarta as a four-times-a-week service, but it's currently listed on the website as three-times-a-week.
So, there may be more news to come on this route.
Mazatlan
A weekly non-stop on Tuesdays from Dec. 9 to April 26.
One-way fares start at $303.
Los Cabos
Once-a-week non-stop on Fridays from Oct. 31 to May 3.
One-way fares start at $308.
Phoenix
A weekly non-stop on Thursdays from Oct. 30 to May 24.
One-way fares start at $194.
Las Vegas
Once-a-week flight on Thursdays from Oct. 30 to May 24.
One-way fares start at $245.

The WestJet news release announcing the 2025-26 winter schedule also outlined some frequency increases that start as soon as July 14.
They include Kelowna to Calgary 66 times weekly, a 27% increase, Kelowna-Vancouver 55 times weekly, a 53% increase, Kelowna-Edmonton 27 times a week, a 42% bump, Kelowna-Toronto five times weekly, a 67% hike, and Kelowna-Victoria five times a week, a 67% increase.
