Alaska Airlines’ new direct flight between Kelowna and Seattle will be year-round

It will soon be a lot easier for people to fly from the Okanagan to the Emerald City.

In July, both WestJet and Alaska Airlines announced that direct flights between Kelowna and Seattle would be returning around the end of the year.

For Alaska, the seasonal cross-border flight would be debuting on Dec. 19, while WestJet’s year-round Kelowna-Seattle route would start around a month later on Jan. 17, 2025.

Now, Alaska has shifted gears, saying that the flight that was previously labelled as seasonal will instead be a year-round route as well.

WestJet’s non-stop service to and from Seattle will start at five times a week, but ramp up to daily service on Feb. 17.

Alaska’s non-stop service will be daily from when it starts on Dec. 19, and a release from Kelowna airport notes that it will be twice a day at times during February and March.

The airport adds that the new options for direct flights to Seattle opens up easy connections to plenty of other American destinations.

That includes Hawaii, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Phoenix and more.
