Spring and summer weekends in the Okanagan are usually spent on a patio, at the beach or for many, camping. Camping has become a somewhat affordable way to vacation and get back to nature. The increase in popularity may have something to do with the term “glamping”; Mother Nature meets modern luxury.
The ability to be one with nature but still have access to your daily amenities has made the idea of camping more appealing to the masses. Whether you’re in a tent, trailer or RV, you can make your stay more enjoyable. There is no reason your second home shouldn’t have the same attention to design detail that your everyday living does.
Luxe Camp (located in the Okanagan) has taken the term pitching a tent to a whole new level! A luxury tent rental company, Luxe Camp will provide a unique camping experience you won’t forget, not to mention a backdrop for photos that will blow up your Instagram feed!!! Whether is it for a romantic weekend getaway, hosting a shower/birthday/reunion/bachelorette party, or as a guest room for out of town visitors, these canvas beauties can be styled any way your heart desires.
To get this boho chic look we added lots of carpets, pillows, throws, and plants (the stunning cacti & succulents came from Better Earth Garden ). Just remember: more is more and layers are everything!
If you want to invest more time into camping buying a travel trailer or motorhome might be the way to go. Most people start out buying used when they are shopping for a trailer or RV but don’t fret; gone are the days of commercial looking upholstery and factory finishes thanks to the rising popularity of remodeling and styling your camping experience.
People are starting to value their time away and wanting to invest in their trailers/RV’s so that their space to feels like their second home. There are more and more design firms that specialize in renovating these trailers and motorhomes ( Hofmann Architecture and The Modern Caravan ).
With some great space saving ideas, as well as keeping the details neutral and minimalistic you can create a retreat that feels like home. Even if you don’t camp or have a trailer, these ideas can be implemented for awkward spaces in your home and condo living (some of these units are larger than many downtown Vancouver condos
I hope you enjoy the great outdoors as well as the indoors this summer!
To cap it all off, we had Lee Watkins Photography come and capture the glamping!
