Young man from Kamloops killed in dirt bike collision near Tulameen

A young man from Kamloops was killed following a dirt biking collision in the Tulameen area over the Canada Day long weekend.

Emergency crews in Princeton responded to a dirt biking accident in the Tulameen area on June 30 around 5 p.m.

A 26 year old man from Kamloops passed away from injuries he sustained from the collision, according to a news release issued by the RCMP.

<who>Photo Credit: File Photo </who>The RCMP have reported that a young man from Kamloops was killed following a dirt bike accident over the Canada Day long weekend in the Tulameen area near Princeton.

The location of the collision was specifically along Coalmont Road in the Tulameen area.

Witnesses at the scene said the bike was travelling at a high rate of speed, and could not manage a corner in the road.

It is not believed alcohol intoxication was a contributing factor, but speed was, according to RCMP.

The BC Coroner's Service is continuing their investigation.
