(UPDATE: Nov. 14 at 2:50 pm): The Trans-Canada Highway has reopened east of Chase after a motor vehicle incident occurred earlier today.
According to DriveBC, the incident is clear and drivers should expect delays due to congestion.

BC Emergency Health Services said it responded to the scene earlier today with two ambulances and primary care paramedics.
The service added that emergency medical treatment was given to a pair of patients who were both transported by ground to a hospital.

(Original story: Nov. 14 at 12:15 pm): Both directions of traffic on Hwy 1 in the Shuswap have come to a halt because of a vehicle incident.
The incident closed the Trans-Canada Highway just east of Chase and according to Drive BC, crews are en route to the scene.

A detour around the incident is in place on Hwy 97 and an update on the status of the closure is expected around 2 pm.
The local highway contractor says drivers can expect significant delays.
