Snow expected on the Okanagan Connector Thursday night

Anyone travelling over the Okanagan Connector (Hwy 97C) between Kelowna and Merritt should be prepared to run into some wet snow.

Environment Canada says snow is possible overnight Thursday and into Friday morning.

“A frontal system will bring light precipitation to southern BC tonight and Friday,” said EC.

“Tonight, snow levels will lower to 1600 metres, and periods of snow are possible over Highway 97C - Okanagan Connector.”

Trace amounts up to five centimetres are expected but higher altitudes could see a bit more.

Rising temperatures on Friday morning will melt the snow, EC said.

Motorists are urged to be prepared to adjust their driving as conditions at higher elevations may change quickly.
