‘Near-zero visibility’: Fog advisory put in place for the Okanagan Connector

Travellers using the Okanagan Connector (Hwy 97C) today are advised to be prepared for foggy conditions.

Environment Canada issued a fog advisory to the BC Interior highway at 6:23 am.

“Near-zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring,” the weather alert explained.

“Areas of dense fog have developed over the area and are expected to persist this morning.”

It adds that weather in the mountains can “change suddenly” and produce hazardous driving conditions.

Visibility, in some areas, can be significantly and suddenly reduced, the alert warns.

While visibility is a concern, road conditions on Hwy 97C and other BC Interior routes appear to be adequate for safe travel.
