(UPDATE: 1:15 p.m.) - Today at 8:15 a.m. Kamloops RCMP responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Summit Drive and McGill Road.
According to police, the accident happened when a pick-up truck was making a left turn from Summit Drive onto McGill Road and a car crossed the intersection contrary to the lights. This resulted in the car striking the pick-up on its passenger side, causing it to flip onto its side.
Both drivers had minor injuries and were transport by ambulance.
Traffic at the intersection had been redirected for a short time until the involved vehicles were removed.

Traffic on McGill is being redirected up Summit Drive, and traffic on Summit Drive is being redirected into the Sahali area.
Motorists are being asked to avoid this area.
