(UPDATE: March 13 @ 2:30 pm) - Hwy 1 has reopened near Salmon Arm.
The highway had been shut down since late Wednesday night "due to rocks on the road," DriveBC said.
Hwy 1 remains closed between Revelstoke and Golden for avalanche control.

DriveBC said the road was shut down late last night “due to rocks on the road.”

The traffic monitor warned the closure could continue until 3 pm because it coincides with scheduled work on Bruhn Bridge.
It advised motorists to use Hwy 97A and Hwy 97B instead.
The incident on Hwy 1 occurred about two kilometres east of Canoe.
