UPDATE: Hwy 1 reopens near BC-Alberta border

(UPDATE: Nov. 28 @ 2:30 pm) - The Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) has reopened near Field.

It shut down this morning due to a "vehicle incident" and was closed for around four hours.


(Original story: Nov. 28 @ 10:40 am) - For the second time in less than 12 hours, the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) has shut down near Field.

DriveBC says the major route has been shut down near the BC-Alberta border due to a “vehicle incident.”

No further details were provided on the incident, but DriveBC doesn’t expect another update until 1 pm.

Hwy 1 had previously shut down in the same area late Wednesday night due to a separate incident, but it reopened around 1 am.
