A second closure is planned for Highway 97 north of Summerland on Friday.
AIM Roads says the 90-minute closure will allow crews to do more blasting work at the site of the rockslide that’s been impacting traffic since August.
The closure is scheduled to begin at 11 am and the highway should reopen at 12:30 pm.
“The highway will be closed to all traffic during these times and will be opened as soon as the work and safety assessments are completed,” says DriveBC.
According to AIM Roads, the closure is happening between Callan Road and Okanagan Lake Provincial Park, which is just north of Summerland.
The closure and any potential updates will be posted to DriveBC.
