The first of many resurfacing projects around B.C.’s southern Interior is underway.
Work on Hwy 3 near Princeton has begun and it marks the start of a busy resurfacing season in the region.
More than 400 kilometres of highways and side roads will receive a facelift over the next few months.
"Maintaining high-quality roads and highways is important for everyone on the road, whether private citizens or commercial vehicles," said Claire Trevena, minister of transportation and infrastructure.
"All these paving projects in the southern Interior in 2019 will make a big difference to local people and those travelling through the region."
Hwy 1, Hwy 5, Hwy 31, Hwy 97 and multiple sideroads off Hwy 1 and Hwy 97 will all be receiving work this summer.
