The special weather statement issued for a section of the Trans-Canada Highway that runs through the Shuswap and Columbia regions has been extended.
Early Tuesday morning, Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for Hwy 1 from the Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass.
According to the warning, between 15 and 20 cm of snow can be expected on Tuesday.
“An area of low pressure over the BC Interior will bring snow at times heavy today through early this evening before tapering to a few flurries,” says the weather agency.
“Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.”
