A new waterfront development in Summerland will be going in front of council on Monday.
The impressive “resort condos” are being proposed for the space that is currently the Cannery Building property at 13415 Lakeshore Drive.
The developer is looking for council approval to rezone the property to allow for the development of a mixed residential and commercial property.
The applicant is proposing the construction of a mixed-use multi-family/commercial development in three separate buildings on the site.
Construction is proposed to be completed in three separate phases. Phase includes the construction of two six-storey residential buildings oriented on the waterfront portion of the site. Each building will contain 12 units, for a total of 24 units.
According to the developer, each of the floors is terraced so that each of the units has an “expansive deck and pool.”
For phase two, the entire first floor at street level will be dedicated to commercial space and is proposed to have 11 individual commercial units. Each of the units will have front door access directly onto Lakeshore Drive.
Then, phase three will include three storeys of residential units above the first floor commercial space. The upper three floors will each contain eight to 10 units of “resort condos.”
According to the report to council, parking will be provided within a separate two-car stacked parking structure in between the residential and mixed-use building. Additional parking will also be available on lowest storey of the commercial building.
The proposal will go before council at the regular meeting on Monday.
