Victim ‘punched and groped’ in ‘violent’ BC stranger assault

Mounties in White Rock are investigating a concerning incident reported this morning.

According to police, the “stranger assault” happened around 10 am in the 14900 block of Prospect Avenue.

The victim was allegedly “punched and groped” before the suspect fled the scene in what investigators believe was an unprovoked assault.

The Integrated Forensic Identification Service attended the scene today to process it for evidence, while investigators have spent time in the area canvassing for witnesses and video.

“Given the violent nature of this assault, we are encouraging members of our community to exercise vigilance while our investigators work to identify and locate the suspect,” noted S/Sgt. Rob Dixon through a media release.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man between 30-40 years old and around 6’0” tall. He was wearing a grey hoodie with the hood up, khaki pants and white shoes at the time.

According to police, the victim is recovering after suffering minor physical injuries.

Anyone with information that could assist investigators with this probe is urged to contact the White Rock RCMP at 778-545-4800.
