Overnight stabbing on BC bus sends 22-year-old to hospital with life-threatening injuries

A young man was critically injured in a Vancouver stabbing over the weekend.

According to police, it happened on a city bus near the Burrard Street Bridge around 3 am Sunday.

Vancouver Police (VPD) officers arrived to find a 22-year-old man suffering from life-threatening injuries.

He was transported to hospital, but there have been no further updates on his condition.

A suspect, 28-year-old Parsa Ganjizadehzavareh, was arrested by VPD officers near Burrard Street and Cornwall Avenue.

He has since been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The VPD says Ganjizadehzavareh remains in custody at this time.
