More seismic activity off the coast of BC

Another notable earthquake struck off the coast of BC today.

The tremor happened just south of Haida Gwaii around 3:17 PST and was registered at magnitude-4.3 (the USGS says magnitude-4.6).

According to Earthquakes Canada, the exact location was 223 kilometres south of the Village of Queen Charlotte.

Although the earthquake had a relatively shallow depth of just 10 km, it wasn’t felt and there were no reports of damage.

This is the 13th earthquake over 4.0 on the Richter scale that’s been measured in that area since Dec. 23, 2019.

The biggest was a magnitude-6.3 earthquake on Christmas Eve.
