Man arrested after allegedly entering BC construction site and stabbing worker

Emergency crews responded to a stabbing at a construction site in North Vancouver earlier today.

Shortly before noon, police received several reports of an assault at the construction site near West 1st Street and Pemberton Avenue.

The RCMP says a man allegedly entered the site and stabbed a worker, who was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Several officers, from both the North Vancouver RCMP and nearby West Vancouver Police Department, responded to the incident.

They were able to track down the suspect a short distance away and take him into custody.

Police determined that the suspect and victim are known to each other.

“This was a frightening and unsettling incident for the workers at the construction site,” said Cpl. Mansoor Sahak. “Thanks to the quick response of RCMP and WVPD officers, the suspect was arrested.”

Police are appealing to the public for additional witnesses and any relevant video footage of the incident.

Those who can assist the investigation are asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 and quote file 25-11369.
