Police say a teenager is in hospital and another is facing charges following a “violent confrontation” on Vancouver’s west side.
Around 8 pm Saturday, officers were called to the affluent Dunbar neighbourhood, at West 16th Avenue and Wallace Street, and found an injured 16-year-old boy when they arrived.
“The victim had been stabbed a number of times and was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries,” explained a Vancouver Police Department (VPD) release.
“The suspect left the area prior to police arrival, but was later arrested by VPD officers at his home.”
Police eventually released the suspect into the custody of his parents and he has a court date scheduled for Aug. 21.
According to the VPD, it’s believed the suspect and victim are known to each other.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
