Good luck explaining that one to ICBC.
Some unlucky person’s car is a total write off after a bizarre incident involving a black bear earlier this week.
It happened on Thursday in Coquitlam and it was RCMP officers who were called to deal with the unusual intruder.
🐻🚙Today, officers were called to rescue a black bear locked inside a car. After a door was accidently left unlocked, the bear wreaked havoc on the interior. Officers broke a window to set the bear free.

According to the Coquitlam RCMP, the animal somehow made its way into the unlocked Toyota Yaris and became trapped inside.
“The bear wreaked havoc on the interior,” said a post to X/Twitter in a classic case of pictures being worth a thousand words.
“Officers broke a window to set the bear free,” the post added.
As bizarre as this incident was, it happened less than a month after Coquitlam Mounties had to respond to something similar.
In June, a bear became stuck in the garage of a home and caused significant damage while making its escape.
As was the case then, the Coquitlam RCMP is putting a wrap on the story by advising people to familiarize themselves with some important bear safety tips.
