BC man, 20, stabbed by stranger while waiting at bus stop

Police in Abbotsford are investigating a random stabbing that sent a young man to hospital.

The 20-year-old victim was reportedly waiting to board a bus in the 32700 block of South Fraser Way around 6 pm Tuesday.

According to the Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD), he was approached from behind and stabbed by an unknown male.

The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while his alleged assailant is said to have fled the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a man in his 40s who stands around 6’0” with a slender build and disheveled brown hair.

Police say he was wearing a black Nike t-shirt with the words “Just Do It” in bold white lettering on the front, along with black pants and black shoes.

The AbbyPD’s Major Crime Unit (MCU) has taken over the investigation and say that early findings suggest the suspect and victim were not known to each other.

“No arrests have been made, and the suspect has not yet been identified,” explained an AbbyPD release.

Police are appealing to potential witnesses, or those with relevant dash cam footage in the area from Tuesday night, to contact the AbbyPD’s MCU at 604-859-5225.
