The warmer weather is here and a sure sign that spring is on its way and so is the return of yard waste collection.
Penticton residents have one week to gather any yard waste that may have collected over the winter and get it ready for collection.
Yard waste collection will resume on Monday, Mar. 10.
Two unlimited yard collection weeks will be happening this spring.
The first week will run from Mar. 24-28 and from April 21-25.
The city notes that large item collection will be happening April 14-18.
With the return of tree pruning, gardening and lawn mowing, the city reminds all residents that only plant materials are accepted in the yard waste carts.
That includes grass, plant trimmings, leaves, pine needles and branches of a certain size.
Items like plastic, garden hoses, plant pots and dog waste are not allowed in the carts.
Residents are reminded to pack their carts lightly so everything gets emptied out on collection day.
Yard waste will be happening bi-weekly and carts should be at the curb by 7 am on the regular collection days.
