Penticton residents are being invited to the return of Slack Alley this weekend.
The event, which transforms the alleyway connecting 200-block of Main and Martin Street, is happening from 1-4 pm on Sunday, Sept. 7.
The team at Downtown Penticton Business Improvement Association will be busy transforming the alleyway into a vibrant hub for residents to enjoy.
There will be live music from local artists, children’s activities (vinyl painting and face painting), a beverage garden highlighting local refreshments, plus a chance to win a $500 gift card basket.
Additionally, the community will be given a chance to celebrate 35 years of the Grooveyard, a cornerstone of the city’s music scene.
“We’re thrilled to welcome everyone back to this unique space and celebrate not only our incredible local talent but also honour the legacy of beloved businesses like The Grooveyard,” said BrettTurner, executive director of the Downtown Penticton BIA.
Slack Alley’s first event was in the fall of 2022, when it launched as a pilot project.
However, it has proven popular with the community and has returned every year since.
