Want to enter a float in this year's Santa Claus Parade, scheduled to motor down Main Street Dec. 3?
Registration opens today and closes Nov. 24.
“This year’s event will be bigger and brighter than ever, with Santa Claus flying in from the North Pole and sprinkling a little magic dust over Main Street,” said City of Penticton Sport and Event Supervisor Jeff Plant.
And this year, the parade and the downtown "Light Up" ceremony, moved to Gyro Park last year from its former home at Nanaimo Square, will fall on the same night.
“We will be releasing more details about our ‘Magic on Main Street’ event soon," said Plant, "but we’re excited to reveal that the City has partnered with the Downtown Penticton Business Improvement Association to cap off the parade with the annual Light Up at Gyro Park, creating an extra-special evening to ring in the holiday spirit.”
All details, including float requirements, safety reminders and application forms, can be found on the City’s website right here.
And if you'd just like to help out, the City is also looking for volunteers. Duties include barricade intersection control, marshalling assistance and parade route support. If interested, email [email protected].
