The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen will hold an open house for the Electoral Area A (Osoyoos) Official Community Plan bylaw review.
Residents are invited to the Sonora Community Centre in Osoyoos Sept. 21 from 1 pm to 3:30 pm.
COVID-19 protocols will be in place and anyone attending is encouraged to wear a mask.
“The last OCP review was done in 2004,” noted Director Mark Pendergraft. “We haven’t had significant changes in our area, but it is important to continue planning for our future so we want to hear from all the communities within Electoral Area A.”
The draft bylaw has been updated to reflect new information, data and concerns. Included is a new community vision – and existing goals have been refreshed to form the basis of the policies throughout the OCP.
“An Official Community Plan is the vision a community has for its future,” said RDOS chair Karla Kozakevich. “The goals and policies set out in the plan help guide decisions made by the Board of Directors about future land use.”
A community survey is open online until Friday, Oct. 30.
The draft bylaw and other supporting documents are available for review at www.rdos.bc.ca.
