RDOS landfills switch to winter hours

Residents across the South Okanagan should be aware of some upcoming changes to hours of operation at local landfills.

Four landfills in Penticton, Okanagan Falls, Keremeos and Oliver will be reducing winter hours until the end of February 2023.

The Campbell Mountain landfill in Penticton is closed Sundays over the winter. It will be open Monday to Saturday from 8:30 am to 4:45 pm.

Penticton residents are reminded that the city has added additional recycling collection days over the holidays. For more information, click here.

The Keremeos landfill is closed Wednesdays with operating hours on Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm, except Christmas Day. The landfill will be open Dec. 24 from 10 am to 4 pm.

The Oliver landfill will be opening later in the day over the winter. Hours of operation will be from noon to 3:45 pm on weekdays. The landfill will open Saturdays from 10 am to 3:45 pm.

Finally, the Okanagan Falls landfill will be closed on Saturday it will remain open on weekdays from 1 am to 1:45 pm.

All landfills within the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen will be closed on statutory holidays and Boxing Day.
