Police searching for suspect after 85-year-old man assaulted in Okanagan Walmart

Okanagan Mounties are searching for a suspect after an 85-year-old man was assaulted in Walmart.

The senior was sent to hospital after the incident and received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.

He was attacked by another man “who argued with him about the way he’d parked his car,” according to Penticton RCMP.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at about 7:20 am.

“At one point during the altercation, the suspect tripped the victim, and subsequently fled in a dark-coloured SUV,” police said.

Mounties provided the following description of the alleged attacker:

  • White

  • Balding dark hair

  • Moustache

  • Glasses

  • Wearing a blue and green Seattle Seahawks sweater

“Police have acquired video surveillance footage of the suspect in this matter, in which we hope can help identify the suspect,” said Cpl. James Grandy.

“No one in our community, especially a vulnerable person, should be threatened or harmed while trying to simply shop”.
