The official start of summer is Wednesday and that will also be the first day for one of the Okanagan’s most popular summer activities.
Splash BC Water Parks will open their Kelowna Wibit on Wednesday, followed by Penticton's Wibit on Friday, Peachland's Wibit on June 29 and Osoyoos' Wibit on July 1.
The giant floating playground features climbing walls, monkey bars, slides, trampolines and plenty more to keep the kids occupied while you enjoy a nice day at the beach.
This will be year 10 for the Kelowna Wibit, a summer staple since 2014 that has since spread to three other Okanagan locations and even a pair of spots in Ontario.
“The family-operated business has quickly become a very popular summer attraction, proving to be an innovative way for locals and tourists to enjoy water activity,” the Splash BC Water Parks website explains.
“Our unique water parks add an additional way all ages can enjoy water recreation in an original, exciting way that is healthy, affordable and fun!”
Splash BC Water Parks says a new custom-built 20-foot tall Ogopogo piece of equipment will be introduced this summer, which is sure to spark some exciting interest.
A day pass to play on any of the four Okanagan Wibits will cost between $28-30, depending on location, and you can get a cheaper rate if you go for an evening session after 5:30 pm.
