Amerlia Boultbee has announced she will be running for Penticton City Council in the upcoming election.
Boultbee ran in the 2021 by-election and hopes to secure a spot in council chambers this year.
Born and raised in Penticton, Amelia has deep local roots. She currently sits on the board of the Penticton and Wine Country Chamber of Commerce and the Penticton and Area Co-operative Enterprise (PACE).
Boultbee lived in Vancouver for a while where she practiced law and says she remains a vocal advocate for access to justice and legal pro bono.
Currently, she is a litigator and dispute resolution lawyer who works at Doak Shirreff Lawyers LLP where she represents clients in business, corporate/commercial disputes, insurance, personal injury and family law.
Crime and safety, housing affordability and economic diversity are the main priorities in her election campaign. She will also be focusing on fiscal responsibility at city hall.
If elected, Boultbee says she “will bring the same scrutiny to spending and management at city hall as she brings to the courtroom and will bring a young and fresh perspective to Penticton.”
