A Penticton cafe has closed their doors for good after dealing with the effects of COVID-19 and a “changing retail environment.”
The Saint Germain Cafe and Gallery, which has been serving Penticton for the past six years, closed up shop this past weekend.
The cafe’s owner announced the closure in July.
“COVID-19, a changing retail environment, exhaustion and personal loss have made me realize this chapter in my life is at its end,” the cafe said. “It's time to start a new chapter.”
This week, the business will be liquidating the contents of the cafe.
“I will never forget this challenging, beautiful, inspiring period of my life. I will never forget the people I was fortunate enough to meet and interact with day in and day out… many of whom I came to call my friend,” the cafe’s owner added in a Facebook post.
