Penticton RCMP seek suspect who allegedly used counterfeit money at a local business

The Penticton RCMP have released pictures of a suspect who has allegedly been using counterfeit US currency to make purchases at local businesses.

Last month, the suspect entered a store in Penticton and made a purchase using counterfeit money, police said in a news release.

The woman was caught on surveillance footage and police are releasing the picture with the hopes someone can identify her and move the investigation along.

She is described as white woman between 40 and 50 years of age, the release said.

She has a “distinctive” tattoo of a bracelet-style rosary on her left wrist and a cross tattoo on the back of her right hand.

“We’re asking anyone who may recognize this individual or has information related to this investigation to contact the Penticton RCMP,” says Cpl. James Grandy, BC RCMP spokesperson.

Anyone with information or can recognize the suspect is asked to call the Penticton RCMP at (250) 492-4300 and refer to file 2025-7550.
