Penticton RCMP say they will be recommending criminal charges against alleged assault suspect

A suspect in an alleged assault has been arrested, the Penticton RCMP say.

Police say they were notified of the alleged assault on Dec. 22 around 10:30 pm.

The assault reportedly happened at a restaurant in the 2400-block of Skaha Lake Road.

A 28-year-old man received serious, non-life-threatening injuries, the RCMP say in a news release.

Since then, the suspect has been arrested and released on an undertaking with conditions.

The investigation is ongoing and the RCMP say they will be recommending criminal charges for the BC Prosecution Service to consider.

Witnesses of the assault are asked to call the Penticton RCMP at (250) 492-4300 and refer to file 2024-21011.
